The Big Trout Pond - Fish for live trout!
A commercial designer, illustrator and award-winning wildlife artist, Tom is probably best known for his gamefish, migratory waterfowl, sporting dog illustrations, and Adirondack Mountain scenes. Many of Tom's images have been used on various outdoor publications throughout the Northeast.
Because he performs in-depth research into the appearance and habitat of his potential subjects, Tom's drawings and paintings exhibit great attention to detail and capture the very nuances of color found in nature. His work encompasses many forms of media including acrylics, watercolors, oils, and graphite pencil.
Tom dedicates his artistic efforts to the memory of his parents who introduced him at an early sge to the great outdoors, allowing him a lifelong appreciation of all things wild and beautiful. His paintings and drawings cover a gauntlet of subject matter from exquisite fish paintings to hes deft touch in painting birds and sporting dogs.
Awards, among others, include "Outstanding Adirondack Painting" and "Graphite Pencil Drawing" category ribbons at the Central Adirondack Art Show in Old Forge and "Painting of the Year" at the New York State Fair Wildlife Art Exhibit. He has had a number of one man shows throughout the Central New York area.
His artwork and prints ca be viewed on his website: www.birdart.com. Tom maintains his studio and resides in Syracuse, NY.
